Our History
Originally Direct Air Service, Inc. had Los Angeles as an agent station. Due to the increase in business, we hired personnel to work in the warehouse to ensure proper loading of the trucks. As the operation continuously grew, we opened up our own terminal in Los Angeles.

After this, we added service from Newark, NJ (EWR) to San Francisco, CA (SFO). This was another "needed" market so we offered service into and out of these lanes twice a week. Through the years our growth has given us a total of 18 destinations from the east coast. We also added an additional date of departure to and from LAX and EWR.

In Los Angeles, we have 4 company trucks, offering local cartage for our customer's. These trucks, like the ones we have in EWR are air ride equipped and have "e-track" as well. In addition to our own local trucks, we have a vast array of owner operators that run exclusively for Direct Air Service in LAX for our local cartage needs.

Our corporate and "flagship" location is Newark, NJ (EWR) which enables our service to be extended locally to New York, NY (JFK) and Philadelphia, PA (PHL). In Newark, NJ we have 10 trucks for local pick up and deliveries. All our local equipment in Newark, NJ are air ride equipped and have "e-track" inside the trucks. Unlike most local cartage companies, we have on average 2 trucks a day in NYC with one of them containing an extra man in the truck. Our local cartage has an extensive area of coverage, ranging from Newark, NJ to NYC, to Long Island, NY to Philadelphia, PA.

In the cities we don't have our own office, we utilize agents that act as Direct Air Service, Inc. We understand the needs of our customer's and we relay that request and urgency to our agents. We find that if we treat our agent as a partner, it becomes a "seamless" service for our customer's.

With our extensive relationship with our agents', we can offer "Direct To Consignee" to our customer's on a "through bill". This enables us to send one invoice, and one tracking number to our customer's and offer extended service that our business requires.
